Inge De Keyser: Heiress to an Ink Empire and a Fortune of Over 50 Million Euros

Inge De Keyser

The De Keyser family has deep roots in the Belgian ink industry. Jordaan De Keyser was an emblematic figure, founded Trenal, a company specializing in the production of inks. Sadly, he passed away in 2001, leaving his legacy to his children, Inge and Erwin De Keyser. In 2003, Erwin sold Trenal to ANI, a subsidiary of Akzo Nobel, while retaining Arets Graphics, a company focused on UV inks, which he acquired in 1999. Inge De Keyser's fortune is estimated at over 50 million euros.

Arets Graphics, based in Niel near Boom, stands out for its UV inks, which dry faster thanks to UV light, an indispensable technology in certain processes such as food packaging printing. Demand in the food sector is particularly strong, as in their collaboration with Delhaize.

In 2007, Fortis Private Equity became a significant shareholder in Arets Graphics, although it did not acquire a majority stake. At the same time, Erwin De Keyser and his Next group have reinvested in this new structure, again alongside Luc Van Doorsselaere. The latter was already a shareholder in the initial structure.

Erwin De Keyser's diversification of investments is remarkable. In addition to his ink companies, he is also a venture capitalist, with stakes in Big Bang Ventures and Allegro. Erwin and Inge De Keyser each control 50 % of Next Group. Their positions in these various companies demonstrate their astute management and strategic expansion of their assets.
