From an influential Belgian film lineage, Geert Bert has an estimated fortune ofn 29.4 million of euros. Son of Albert Bert, founder of Kinepolis - a major cinema chain - he has chosen not to get involved in the management of the family business, leaving this role to to his brother Joost. His fame in the Belgian media is not, however, due to his wealth or family heritage, but rather to notable incidents linked to his state of health; suffering from epilepsy, he has been responsible for several remarkable accidents. In particular, in 2009, he survived an accident with his helicopter which crashed into a cornfield, fortunately without causing any other casualties.
