Feryn Family: Garage Door Specialists with €28M in Assets

Founded in 1969 by Willy Feryn and his wife Dinny Houben, the Feryn company has specialized in the installation of garage doors in the commune of Kapelle-op-den-Bos. What began as a small family business has evolved rapidly, marking significant growth over the years. In 1979, the construction of the first large showroom and storage space marked the beginning of a significant expansion and created assets of €28,257,290.

The 1990s saw an increase in storage space and the construction of new offices. Willy and Dinny, the pioneers, are still involved in the company on a daily basis. In 2020, they launched a new branch of business with the sale and installation of prefabricated garage units.

Pascal and Tania Feryn, children of the founding couple, joined the company in the 90s and contributed to its expansion. More recently, grandchildren Cedric and Nicola have also joined the family business, continuing the tradition.

The Feryn family has not escaped controversy. In 2005, Pascal Feryn was at the origin of a media stormfollowing a controversial statement about hiring employees of Moroccan origin. The case ended up in court, where the family's lawyer argued that his client's comments had been taken out of context. The company nevertheless stressed that it had a significant number of non-native employees, and that its hiring practices respected diversity.

Pascal at the Dakar Rally

Tackling a less controversial area, Pascal Feryn has shown a sustained interest in motorsports, by forming its own team to take part in the famous Dakar rally with his teammate, the media figure Koen Wauters. The tragic loss of Pascal Feryn's son Maxim in a car accident in 2020 led to a posthumous tribute at the Dakar Classic in Saudi Arabia in 2021, where the team raced in his honor.
