La Familie Lhoist-Berghmans<\/strong> heeft activa geschat op bijna 3 miljard euro<\/a><\/strong>dankzij zijn wereldwijd toonaangevende bedrijf in de productie van kalk en dolomiet<\/strong>. Gevestigd in Clavier, in de provincie Luik, illustreert de groei van dit familiebedrijf de industri\u00eble uitmuntendheid van Walloni\u00eb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De oorsprong van het bedrijf gaat terug tot 1889, toen Hippolyte Dumont de steengroeve oprichtte, en in 1924 begon L\u00e9on Lhoist de internationale toekomst van de groep vorm te geven. Hun producten zijn essentieel voor de landbouw, de bouw en vele andere industri\u00eble sectoren.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

De groep breidde internationaal uit in de jaren 1980, te beginnen in Noord-Amerika en met verdere expansie in Europa, met name Oost-Europa.
