The family Van Biervliet is a well-established name in the industry Belgium, having historically founded companies such as Steenbakkerijen van Zonnebeke and the Warneton Brickworks. After 1994, following the sale of their brickyard business to a multinational, the family channeled the proceeds of the sale into a holding company named Fivancobased in Zonnebeke near Kortrijk. Fivanco then turned to investments in real estatewith a particular interest in international partnerships, especially in Poland and Romania.

Fivanco is renowned for its dynamic portfolio, which includes holdings in fast-growing companies. Notable achievements include the Sea Real Estates is distinguished by its investment in vacation apartments on the Baltic coast, highlighting parallels with the Spanish coastal real estate boom of the past. Led by Bill Bellens, the project is based in Rewala town renowned for its extensive beaches and mild climate.

Discretion is a notable feature of the Van Biervliet approach, as they choose to conduct their operations out of the spotlight. In 2015, a family turning point came when David Van Biervliet bought out his sister Caroline's share, consolidating his leadership of the company.
